Tentative Lab Schedule - Fall 2007

Lab #1 Aug. 20 Tour of annual flower trials at Annual Flower Trial Garden at College and Lake Street and explanation of various annual flowers.

Lab #2 Aug. 27 All day field trip to Denver. Will observe annual plantings

in various Denver city parks and parkways, and tour Denver

Botanic Gardens and commercial landscape areas.

Sept. 3 Labor Day – University holiday

Lab #3 Sept. 10 Tour of Woodward Govenor=s flower areas (Lemay and Drake), Fort Collins and other private floral displays in Ft. Collins.

Lab #4 Sept. 17 Field site analysis for annual project - Quiz #1

Lab #5 Sept. 24 Working period for annual project - Annual Quiz #2

Guest lecturer in lab on color & color combinations

Lab #6 Oct. 1 Working period for annual project - Annual Quiz #3

Lab #7 Oct. 8 Presentations of annual projects in lab period

Lab #8 Oct. 15 Tour of perennial area at PERC and at various locations on campus.

Lab #9 Oct. 22 Perennial Quiz #1 and field site analysis for perennial project

Lab #10 Oct. 29 Local field trip to Gulley Greenhouse to observe perennial plant production

Lab #11 Nov. 5 Perennial Quiz #2 and working period for perennial project.

Lab #12 Nov. 12 Perennial Quiz #3 and preparation of perennial beds at PERC for winter

Nov. 19 Thanksgiving Break

Lab #13 Nov. 26 Working period for perennial project and possibly some presentations.

Lab #14 Dec. 3 Possibly Perennial Quiz #4 and some presentations of perennial projects in lab (Or Perennial Quiz #4 given in lecture)

Dec. 10-14. Final I.D. covering perennials and annuals will be given during Final Exam Week. Also, the Final Lecture Test over last one-third of course will be given during Final Exam Week.
